You Never Know Your Luck till the Wheel Stops

Have you ever won a lottery, or door prize? Keep on dreaming, and you will never
know when the bell rings.

dahulu, saya jagonya.  Walaupun hadiah yang didapatkan hanya mug, jam dinding
ataupun panci, semangat untuk mendapatkannya sangat tinggi.  Hehehehhe
sampe-sampe sempet dapet julukan konsultan TTS karena pertanyaan sesulit apapun
pasti terjawab…
Setelah menikah, keadaan berubah. Ternyata suami saya pembawa hoki dalam
kehidupan saya. Dimulai dengan memenangkan hadiah-hadiah di acara-acara kantor.
Hahahahha perabotan rumah kami kebanyakan hasil doorprize. Mulai dari TV, kipas
angin, sampai ke piring dan sendok. Jadi jangan heran kalo bikin supermi di
rumah dengan panci merk “Gudang Garam”. Hampir tiap ada acara yang berbau
“doorprize” pastinya semua pada kepengen nitip kupon supaya tertular
keberuntungan katanya.

Kalo belum dapet
hadiah motor, berarti anda masih sanggup membeli motor sendiri. Hmmmm kalo saya
dapet iPad dan Kamera digital? Berarti saya memang nggak sanggup untuk membeli
keduanya, tapi diberi jalan untuk memilikinya :P  (he..he..he..he… terimakasih
suami yang beruntung mendapatkan iPad, tapi yang lebih beruntung tentunya saya
karena menikah dengan orang yang beruntung kekeke)

Country Road, Take Me home....

It’s been (almost) 34 years since my last visit to Medan, North Sumatra. I went there with the whole family to visit my grandfather village in Sipirok. This time, I visited Medan, Brastagi and Lake Toba with my family. I enjoyed the trip and wish could be back there someday. I stayed in Caroline Hotel in Lake Toba. It was fantastic, and tranquil. I almost couldn’t hear the sound of machine. So quiet and the view so enormous. Here are some pictures that I took in Toba Lake.

AWUG

Awug, the traditional sundanese snack
Love this one so much, especially when it's still hot. You can taste the palm-sugar melting in your mouth. The lady goes around the neighborhood by carrying two "mount" of awug. This snack is my favorite since I was a little girl. Now my kids love it so much. Well, like a mother like a daughter......

Framing the Instituut Pasteur Bandung

Frame: a border or case for enclosing a picture, mirror, etc

Framing object is really fun. You can see the different picture by adding, wall, leaves, trees, key-hole, or any object you like as frame. Lowering the meter in the camera (usually ± symbol) gives darker area, and sunlight give the object clearer. And all the setting was programmed by the camera. I took many pictures while having over-worked in the office. I tried to frame them by using the wall that I think will give the picture nicer look. And these are the best picture that I framed.
For the main building (first picture), I framed it by the rectangle object. I set the camera by ISO 50 and lowering the meter to give the darker effect on the frame. Second picture, the frame is not good enough. I blame the sun for the unsuccessful framing. Last picture, I take inside the bathroom. (held the breath for a while :P). I love the shaping of the wall. Actually, I do like to take the picture of old building. They are rich in unusual shape, detail, color, and design.
So these are the part of the building where I use to play hard and work smart :P

My Favourite Pics from Dudi Sugandi Class

This photo was taken a few months ago while taking basic pocket photography class by Dudi Sugandi (Photo Journalist). These two are my favourite. The "guru" said that my pictures are okay, only the date on left side is a little bit distraction.

I enjoyed attending the class. We got a new knowledge about taking the good picture by using a pocket camera. It's no matter what kind of camera brand you have. The most important is the man behind the gun. Thank's Kang Dudi for sharing the information and giving the courage to make a good picture. By the way, these pictures are taken by Fuji Semo7x Mpix which I've got from the rally competition in my office.

Coming out of laziness

It seems that’s been a very long time I never write down again here. Actually, my laziness habit is back again. Surely, I know that I always sabotage myself. But, last night I have made a conversation with a friend of mine, I have to write back on the blog. She knows exactly what should I do to avoid my old bad habitual.

Well, here my coming back. At least I make a promise to myself that I have to write down anything I like once a week. Down grader the language barrier by writing down Indonesian, so I don’t have any excuse.

Remember, practice makes perfect :P

Roll a cake...

Cake roll or swiss roll is one of my favorite cake. I can't stand not to try it. It's one of the toughest cake that I ever tried beside sponge cake :(
I have tried many times before I can conquer it. First problem, the cake doesn't want to bake well. I have to find the good recipe. Second, the skin of the cake sticks on the paper, the look is not good.

After many times of trying and spending kilos of egg, here my roll cake. Not perfect but good for me.
